Memorize: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; Romans 4:20
Devotional Reading: Numbers 13:25-33
The word for confession is “homologeo” meaning “to agree with” or say the same thing that God says. His word shall come to pass. As a believer, when you make positive confession of faith, you are breaking the influence of Satan over your life or the life of your child who you make the confession on, forcing Satan to acknowledge your authority and victory over him. There is power in our confession “Your confession is your possession”, so, you must beware what you confess over your life or on those you have authority over.
Your life is a sum total of the words you have spoken. What you say…, in other words what you confess, you possess.
Proverbs 18:21; Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Use your mouth as an instrument of life not death. Let the words you speak be words of blessings not curse. You are literally words away from your harvest, don’t allow negative speech hinder your breakthrough, speak the word!
The centurion challenged Jesus in the book of Matthew 8:8; to speak “meaning – use the power of word through confession” to heal his servant. Vs 8; The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed, and it was so.
In our devotional reading, Moses sent 12 spies to spy the promised land, 10 brought evil report with negative confessions, they were destroyed by their confessions and never got to the promised land. Two people, Joshua and Caleb brought good report with positive confessions, their confessions manifest in their lives, they got to the promised land and possessed it.
For most people, their life is a product of their confession, or the confessions made by their parents on them. I remember growing up in Africa, I witnessed some parents who due to small offences committed by their children, they would rain curses and make negative confessions on the child. Many great destinies have been destroyed and beautiful future aborted as a result. Some people carelessly or ignorantly have done this to themselves which became future hindrances and obstacles that stood in the way of their breakthrough, many died in impoverishment when they were actually destined for greatness.
Similarly, some people have spoken greatness into their lives or the lives of their children through positive confessions which became manifest, they made it and became very successful in life. Remember the experience that Ezekiel had in Ezekiel 37 “The Valley of dried bones” the Scripture says those bones were very dry, but the LORD told Ezekiel to prophesy on those dry bones. Vs 7; So I prophesied as I was commande: and as I prophesie, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. In vs 10; The dried bones came back to life, stood upon their feet, an exceeding great army. This is the reason why it is often said that “We are the architect of our own destiny”
If you have made negative confessions over your life, or into the Ife of your spouse, or your children or other people, begin to renounce it now and repent genuinely, I pray that the Lord will have mercy on you, forgive you, reverse all your negative pronouncements and restore all the years you have lost as a result in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O Lord, I renounce all my negative pronouncements and confessions, please restore all my years of loss in Jesus name.
Key Dose: Be careful with your words, remember “your confession is your possession”.
